HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT

It is the University policy that each applicant will be considered for employment solely on qualifications for the position, without regard for race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, veteran's status, or disability. The Human Resources Department is located on the third floor of the Bobby K. Marks Administration Building, Room 311, and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; telephone (936) 294-1070. Staff Employment

The Human Resources Department is responsible for the employment of all regular full-time and part-time staff. In addition, this department is responsible for wage and salary administration, employee relations, affirmative action and benefits.

Student Employment Information

At present, Sam Houston State University has a decentralized student employment process. Therefore, a student must inquire with each employing department about on-campus job possibilities. Application for employment may be obtained from the Human Resources Department and students are encouraged to review the Employment Board.

Employment Board

Many employment opportunities are posted on the bulletin board which is located along the corridor adjacent to the Human Resources Department, 311 Bobby K. Marks Administration Building. Job listings change frequently and provide a variety of employment opportunities. On occasion, the various departments will list their student jobs with the Human Resources Department and, as this occurs, the openings are posted on the Employment Board.
